My experience at Honda West was very unsatisfactory. I brought my dirt bike in to simply have the carb tuned. I brought the bike in during the Sturgis rush so the wait was about two months which is a long time but I made the mistake of taking it in during such a busy time. However two months and $350.00 later my mother went in to pick up the bike at which point an employee tried (unsuccessful y) to start it for ten minutes. My mom ended up picking it up and taking it home which was a mistake. I also tried starting it unsuccessfully which made me pretty upset. I decided to take the bike back in so they could fix it for me. In my opinion the honest thing to do would be to fix it for free but for the next hour I had a heated argument with several employee's whom used profanity more times than I can count. The employees tried to justify the fact that the bike would not start a and blamed me for the fault. Finally they agreed they would fix it for free. Now one month after this incident I have picked up my bike again. I am hopeful it will start but I have my doubts due to the poor customer service. I would not recommend Honda West to anyone. Not a good place to do business
Hello, I do not normally write reviews but in the case of Honda West in Dickinson North Dakota I was treated so bad that I decided to go through the process of creating a google account so I could warn anyone that is considering doing business with Honda West. Before I explain; I can promise you that this is an honest review regarding my experience at Honda West and that I am not a competitor or manager of another local shop trying to divert business to a different business. I have just relocated to the Dickinson area and have not dealt with any other repair shops in the area. Recently I brought a vehicle in for simple maintenance and I soon discovered how crooked the employees of Honda West behave. The work I requested was very simple (I am not mechanical what so ever) and I have had similar work done in my hometown of Fargo North Dakota with satisfactory results. Had I brought my vehicle in to my mechanic of choice in Fargo North Dakota it would have taken him one hour at the most. At Honda West I was charged an outrageous sum of money which was accumulated mostly by the dishonest mechanic at Honda West whom claimed the simple job took over three hours to complete. I have already stated I am not very mechanical but WOW I think I would have been better off handing my motorcycle off to a ten year old or working on it myself. When I picked up my vehicle it ran WORSE than when I dropped it off. I had to pay for labor as well as "parts" which included an air filter and a spark plug which I specifically told them I had just replaced in my shotty attempt to fix my vehicle by myself. To be clear I dropped my vehicle off with a brand new air filter and a brand new spark plug but for some reason they thought it was neccesary to replace them. I do not have any proof but I have a strong suspicion that they did not even replace these parts but logged it into the computer that they did so they could make a few extra dollars. This is not even the worst part. When i started my vehicle and took it out for a ride it was running extremely rich and I ended up "damaging the seals inside the engine." (not my words; the mechanic I took the bike to after said this) I will not recommend or mention any shop to maintain the fact that I am not trying to promote another business but only trying to warn other people that you should avoid Honda West in Dickinson. Please take this seriously and read all of the google reviews. I am definitely not the only one that has been ripped off at Honda West. In the end it is your responsibilty to make the decision but I strongly advise you that you should not take your ATV, Motorcycle, Scooter, or side by side to Honda West in Dickinson.
Over the years I've purchased several motorcycles, aftermarket parts, maintenance items, and riding gear. I've always been treated great. It's always an excellent experience walking into Honda West.
I brought a four wheeler in to get a tire repaired, being told they would call me back the next day when it was fixed. I never heard back from them. I let it go over the weekend and called back the next week. I was told the manager would call me back that day. Once again did not get a call back. I called the next day(Wednesday), and was told it would be done on Saturday. I returned to pick it up Monday morning; I was told it was on the schedule for next Saturday. I was also told they had my tires when I dropped it off, when it was time to replace the bad one there were none to be found. 12 days later. There mechanics got me taken care of but they have definite management problems and inexperienced customer service that blames all of their issues on the managers while claiming they cannot do anything without them.
